Just call me HOT!

Do you know what you get when u cross a 3yr old with a pot of boiling water?

ME.

Some of my friends know this but others don't. See the story is, I was at a friend of the family’s house with my relatives. And they live across the road from a train line and when I was a kid I loved trains (my dad is a huge train buff) So just as we heard a train coming, (From what I know) my cousin grabbed my by the arm and pulled me along to see the train. Right at that time, a family friend was moving a pot of boiling water to make some tea or coffee (maybe another reason I don't like hot drinks)And then my cousin bumped into him and the water went over me.

All I can remember is being in a bath with ice, and then being at the hospital with my grandpa spilling strawberry Big M on me (it’s a milk drink for the non Australians). That’s it from the experience. From what my parents tell me I had 1st degree burns on my face and somewhere between 1st-2nd degree burns on my chest. Unfortunately they didn't take pictures, I would of like to seen what I actually looked like (is that morbid?)

Anyways from this I have found that I have a 'Sensitivity' to heat. I hate things that are hot; I feel them more than the 'normal' person. So from this most hot drinks are out (I may have a hot chocolate now and then, after it has cooled down) But tea and coffee pfft that’s for someone else.

I also can't stay in spa/hot tubs for too long. And don't even venture into saunas/steam rooms. And I've also fainted in the heat before (while playing a brass instrument at that) Yeah life is embarrassing.

But the one lasting mark this left on me, I still have the scar on my chest. It's kind of in the shape of a 7, but it’s also kind of weird. I'm pretty self conscious about it, so not many people have seen it. Scars are cool but sometimes their not for everyone.

The reason I bring this up is more of a back story for a blog that I half wrote then realised I had never explained about my sensitivity.

Anyways so does anyone have any scar or disaster stories from their child hood?

I don't like my knees because of all the scars on them. The worst is the scar on my left knee that looks a bit like I've had knee surgery. Actually I fell on a broken beer bottle when I was seven. I'm extremely uncoordinated.

I split my head wide open at One and a half. Fell down concrete stairs. I don't remember it......probably cause I hit my head......then at 8 or 9 I split my skull open jumping off a MacDonald's merry-go-round. I remember the guy's face who had to clean it up....priceless. I got staple. *shiver*

My first year working at camp I was a hostess. One my very first day to do anything, the hostesses were setting up the tables for the staff meal. Well I was wheeling a table out and not really watching it and it started to wibble and I tried to catch it, which didn't work. It dragged up my leg and feel on my ankle. I have a nice scar on my left leg right in the middle of my calf and my ankle still hurts it you hit the right point....it gets better. The next year, I was a counsellor and for Mom's and Kids' camp we did a skit and I had to run off stage and out the side door. What I had forgotten was that in the building we were in, after it rains there is a huge puddle just inside the door. Well it had rained the night before, and I ran off stage and fell down and mostly outside the door, scraping and rescaring my same leg! So the scar on that leg became bigger!

i fell through a glass window at the age of 2. i landed in a pile of broken glass but surprisingly i wasnt really hurt apart from a few bruises and a big slice in my forhead which i still have a scar from. then about a year later my dad was doing something in the backyard and i went running out to tell him something and little did i know that at the moment he was carrying a sleeper (if u dont know they are really big logs of wood) and he got startled and dropped it right on the bottom half of my leg, which broke in half. it happened to be just before my birthday and chrissy so there are photos of my sitting on santas lap with this massive big cast on my leg. i dont have any scars, but its a kool story, and i like to tease dad bout it...hehehe

Hello, I have a scar around my right eye, to which isn't a "obvious" thing, but is still seeable, to which I don't like, blacked out leaving the girlfirneds one night, somehow managed to keep walking and fall into the brick wall at the front of her place, about a yr and abit ago now.
And just recently, I was "bashed" at the Preston train station and seems I will now have scars on my top and bottom lips on the left.
Got a few more things along them lines, but most I don't think left any scars.
BTW in case you don't rember my "online alias" its Gav =).
